The RESET Method™

Reconnect with yourself — one small safe step at a time.

A 12-week guided self-development course for adults who are functioning on the outside but feel tired, disconnected, stuck, or simply no longer quite like themselves.

RESET gives you a structured, thoughtful way to slow down, understand what is happening underneath the surface, reconnect with what genuinely matters to you, and begin making choices that fit the person you are now.

The framework

The Five R’s

R

Recognise

What is happening to me?

Begin noticing what feels like you, what does not, and what may be underneath the way you feel.

R

Regulate

What helps me feel safe enough to hear myself?

Understand your protective responses and create enough space to think and listen more clearly.

R

Reconnect

Who am I underneath roles, pressure and survival?

Explore the person underneath responsibility, performance and expectation — and rediscover what genuinely matters.

R

Realign

Does the life I am living fit the person I am reconnecting with?

Look gently at relationships, work, time, purpose, money, safety and the other areas that shape everyday life.

R

Respond

Knowing what I now know, how do I want to respond?

Choose thoughtful responses based on understanding — whether that means protecting what works, gathering information, asking for support, setting a boundary, experimenting or making a decision.

Begin at your own pace.

A gentle pace. Your own space.

I’m interested in RESET — ask Sharon a question

This sends an enquiry to Sharon — it does not reserve a place on the course.

Does this feel familiar?

Life can look fine on the outside and still not feel like your life.

◆

You may still be working.

Still caring for other people.

Still meeting expectations.

Still getting things done.

And yet somewhere underneath all of that, something feels different.

Perhaps you are tired in a way that rest does not quite fix. Perhaps you feel disconnected from yourself. Perhaps you keep thinking, “I can’t keep doing this,” but you are not even sure what needs to change.

Or perhaps nothing is dramatically wrong — you simply know you do not feel quite like yourself anymore.

RESET begins there.

Not by asking you to make a huge decision. But by helping you listen.

What RESET is

A place to hear the part of yourself that rarely gets your attention.

Most of us spend enormous amounts of time responding to work, family, responsibilities, expectations and other people’s needs. The quieter inner self can gradually become harder to hear.

RESET gives you structured space to turn inward with curiosity rather than judgement.

You are not asked to become a new person. You are not asked to tear your life apart. You are invited to understand yourself more clearly.

  • What is happening?
  • What are you protecting yourself from?
  • What genuinely matters to you?
  • What still fits?
  • What no longer does?
  • And knowing what you now know, how do you want to respond?

What you receive

What is included

The RESET Method™ is designed to be followed over 12 weeks, but it is not a race.

You do not have to answer every question. You do not have to go deeper than you are ready for. Honest engagement matters more than completing everything.
  • ◆A Week 0 introduction and set-up module, followed by 12 guided weekly modules
  • ◆Warm narrated lessons
  • ◆A dedicated RESET Course Journal
  • ◆Reflective exercises and prompts
  • ◆Optional deeper-dive companion resources
  • ◆The Five R framework you can return to long after the course ends
  • ◆Gentle +1 experiments where small action is useful
  • ◆Space to work at the depth that feels right for you

You decide how deeply you want to engage.

◆

Some people may write pages.

Some may write one sentence.

Some questions may stay with you for days.

And sometimes your most honest response may be:

“I don’t know.”

Or even:

“I hate this question.”

That is still information.

RESET is not about giving the “right” answers. Sometimes resistance, irritation, uncertainty or discomfort tells us something important too.

The course gives you a framework. You choose the pace and depth.

RESET is not another place to perform.

RESET is not

  • —a quick-fix promise
  • —a pressure-based self-improvement programme
  • —a demand to overhaul your life
  • —a test of how self-aware you can be
  • —therapy or trauma processing
  • —a requirement to turn every insight into action

RESET is

  • ◆reflective
  • ◆psychologically informed
  • ◆structured
  • ◆gentle but honest
  • ◆practical
  • ◆designed to help you reconnect with yourself

+1

The +1 principle

Small enough to feel manageable. Meaningful enough to notice.

Throughout RESET, you may be invited to try a +1. A +1 is one small, realistic step towards feeling around five percent safer, clearer, lighter, more connected or more aligned.

It is not a performance target. It is permission to make change small enough to be manageable.

Sometimes a +1 stays small. Sometimes it gives you information. And sometimes it helps you become clear enough to make a larger decision.

About Sharon

Created by Sharon Boyden

Sharon is a qualified counsellor and experienced social worker and mental health practitioner with a career supporting children, young people, adults and families through complex periods of change.

The RESET Method™ grew from a simple observation: many capable people become extremely good at functioning while gradually losing touch with themselves underneath the roles they carry.

RESET was created to give people a structured, thoughtful space to pause, listen and reconnect — without judgement, pressure or the assumption that their whole life needs fixing.

“Sometimes the most important conversation is the one you have been too busy to have with yourself.”

Optional support

You can do RESET independently — but you do not have to do it completely alone.

The RESET Method™ was designed to work as a self-guided programme. You can move through it privately, at your own pace, and go as deeply as feels useful.

If you would like extra support while working through the course, Sharon also offers optional consultation sessions. These sessions can help you reflect on something that has come up, think through a particular question, explore how to apply RESET to your own circumstances, or consider what kind of support or next step may be useful.

You are not trying to become somebody new.

By the end of RESET, the aim is not that every part of your life has changed. It is that you can hear yourself more clearly.

RESET gives you a way back.

You may understand:

  • what happens to you under pressure
  • what helps you feel safer
  • what genuinely matters to you
  • what parts of your life fit well
  • what may need attention
  • what you want more or less of
  • how you want to respond when life becomes noisy again

Ready to begin?

If life has become more about coping, functioning and getting through than feeling connected to yourself, RESET offers somewhere to begin.

You do not need to have everything worked out. You only need somewhere to start listening.

Reconnect with yourself — one small safe step at a time.

Keep returning to yourself.
